We're building a future where retailers can eliminate the massive operational overhead and technical debt associated with online checkout and payments, and where customers can buy instantly and securely across the internet. To solve such a large problem, we've put together an incredible team and are selectively adding to it. Bolt is hiring a Tech Lead/Manager to help our team scale. You will be responsible for people and projects, all while being involved in technical execution. The ideal candidate empowers their team, has extraordinary technical abilities (you're a 100x engineer), leads by example, has strong communication skills, and adaptability to new technologies. As part of the leadership function at Bolt, you will guide a team of 4-8 Engineers. The ideal candidate seeks to "remain in the weeds" executing production-level code, is excited to wear multiple hats day to day, and will be a significant part of Bolt's growth.

You will

  • Remain "in the weeds", executing production level code on a daily basis
  • Dial in focus, ensuring each person has a clear understanding of their goals and priorities
  • Take on leadership responsibilities, including weekly 1:1’s, career development, and day-to-day management
  • Align effort with priorities, ensuring all departments' needs are addressed
  • Be a positive and engaging cultural force


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field
  • 5+ years post-grad professional experience in a cross-functional, team-oriented software development environment
  • Experience leading technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and server infrastructure
  • Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, time-sensitive initiatives
  • History of shipping great products
